Popular Nigerian actor Chief Kanran is dead

Veteran Nollywood actor Olusegun Akinremi, popularly known as Chief Kanran, has passed away.

The seasoned actor was said to have died at the age of 72 on Friday morning.

His death was confirmed by well-known filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi in an Instagram post.

“Popular actor, Segun Remi died Friday morning,” he shared.

As of the time this report was compiled, full details surrounding the cause of death had not yet been made public.

Chief Kanran was a prominent figure in the Yoruba movie scene and was especially recognized for portraying General Philips in episode 13 of the now-defunct television series Megafortune.
