Portable, Speed Darlington to face off in celebrity boxing match April 18

Controversial Nigerian musicians Speed Darlington and Portable are set to face off in a celebrity boxing match, which will take place on April 18, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Centre in Lagos State.

The rivalry between the two began in March when Darlington offered Portable N500,000 to perform at his upcoming show. Portable, dismissing the offer as too low, called Darlington “poor” and highlighted that he typically charges N20 million for performances.

“You want me to perform at your show, but you don’t have the money? You’re using my name to promote your event. I charge N20 million, ask around. I didn’t know you were poor. I don’t associate with poor people,” Portable said.

Darlington responded, expressing regret for inviting Portable and asking, “Why all the insults?”

In turn, Portable challenged Darlington to a fight, claiming he would defeat him just as he had done to actor Charles Okocha.

The match is now confirmed, following strong demand from fans, with the organizers officially announcing it on Instagram. The post from Mygamerush reads, “You asked and now it is here. Two street kings battle for ultimate street supremacy.”

This fight comes after Portable’s victory in December 2023, when he defeated actor Charles Okocha in a previous celebrity boxing match.
