Wikki Tourists head coach Abdulahi Maikaba has praised his players for displaying strong character, determination, and resilience despite their slim loss to Ikorodu City.
The team fell 1-0 to Ikorodu City in a match held in Abuja on Saturday.
Maikaba attributed the outcome to misfortune, suggesting his side was simply unlucky on the day.
The experienced coach emphasized that the focus will now move to preparing for the Nigeria National League (NNL) Super Eight promotion playoffs.
“You all saw how we played,we dominated from start to finish, but the goal just wouldn’t come,” Maikaba told the club’s media.
“That’s football for you. It just wasn’t our day. I’m proud of the boys, they showed great character, resilience, and determination.
“Now, our full focus shifts to the remaining league matches. We are still on a mission to secure promotion back to the Nigeria Premier Football League. We ask for continued patience, prayers, and support from our fans.”
