Rangers assistant coach, Ekeh Ekenedilichukwu, acknowledged that the Round of 32 match in the President Federation Cup against their regional rivals, Heartland, was a challenging one.
The Flying Antelopes triumphed 5-3 in a penalty shootout after a hard-fought game at the Awka Township Stadium on Wednesday, with the match ending 1-1 in regulation time.
Ekenedilichukwu confirmed that the team’s goal is to secure the 2025 President Federation Cup title.
He also praised his players for their resilience in clinching the victory.

“It was a tough match, as expected, but we gave our all to come out on top against our neighbors, Heartland,” Ekenedilichukwu said.
“We continue to work on the team, with our focus set on winning the trophy for the seventh time.”
It’s worth noting that Rangers were runners-up in 2023.
