Real Madrid defender Dani Carvajal has shared his disappointment over the upcoming exit of manager Carlo Ancelotti from the club.
Ancelotti is set to depart at the close of the current season to assume the role of head coach for the Brazil national team.
His final match at the helm of Real Madrid will be against Real Sociedad on Saturday.
Reacting to the news, Carvajal referred to Ancelotti as a father figure in his football journey.
He also expressed hope that the veteran coach who previously managed clubs like Chelsea and AC Milan will be honored with a fitting farewell in his final game.
“I am very sad about Carlo Ancelotti’s departure. He is almost like a Sports Father to me,” Carvajal was quoted by Madrid Zone as saying.
“I hope he gets the send-off he deserves on Saturday.”
