Stormzy, a well-known British rapper, has been prohibited from driving in the UK for nine months.
After an off-duty police officer in London discovered the musician using a cell phone while operating a Rolls-Royce, the Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court banned him on Thursday.
He pleaded guilty in writing to driving while using the device in West Kensington on March 7, 2024, and was given the ban by District Judge Andrew Sweet.
Sweet condemned Stormzy’s “dangerous and irresponsible” behaviour and pointed out that his driving record was “not good.”
The judge added six further points to his licence and fined him £2,010 ($2,498).
Stormzy had six points on his licence from a prior speeding infraction before to Thursday’s hearing.
According to the ZINGTIE, drivers in the UK risk disqualification if they accrue 12 or more penalty points in three years.
