Reforms: Northeast group condemns Bala Mohammed, Al-Mustapha; backs Tinubu for 2027

Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, the former Chief Security Officer to the late former Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, and Senator Bala Mohammed, the governor of Bauchi State, have been condemned by the Northeast-based socio-group Forum for Northeast Development in response to the recent criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s policies by prominent northerners.

According to the forum, which asserted that Tinubu’s changes would ultimately be very beneficial to the North, it has closely examined the President’s activities since taking office and found that he has good intentions.

It added that because the Northeast and the entire northern area will greatly benefit from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s new tax reform measures, it has publicly endorsed them.

The Forum for Northeast Development released the following statement, which was co-signed by Comrade Lawan Mohammed and Alhaji Baba Mala Biu, the Forum’s chairman and secretary: “First, we have no reason to complain because the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, is from the Northeast geopolitical zone, and we believe he can’t betray us as a people, being one of the trusted individuals we rely upon politically.

“It is really unfortunate that some northerners, such as Bauchi State Governor Senator Bala Mohammed and former Chief Security Officer to the late former Head of State, Major Hamza Al-Mustapha, have raised voices against a President who is working hard to restore the economy and the indices of growth and development.”

The Forum expressed optimism that the tax reform policies and other economic reforms are aimed at creating a strong foundation for sustainable development in the Northeast and other parts of the North, while also urging the people to maintain their optimism and faith in the Tinubu-Shettima-led administration.
