Rescued NECO Victims Meet Kogi Governor as New Details Emerge

Kogi State Governor, Usman Ododo, has welcomed the school principal, a National Examinations Council (NECO) official and two students who were recently rescued after being abducted during an attack on an examination centre in Olowa, Dekina Local Government Area.

The victims were received at the Government House in Lokoja, where the governor met with them alongside heads of various security agencies operating in the state.

Their rescue followed a coordinated security operation, with persistent pressure from security personnel reportedly forcing the kidnappers to abandon the victims and flee the area.

Governor Ododo commended the combined security team for the successful operation and assured residents that efforts would continue until those behind the abduction are apprehended and prosecuted.

He also expressed concern over reports that an illegal examination, commonly referred to as a “miracle” centre, was allegedly operating in the state despite Kogi’s free education policy.

The governor appreciated President Bola Tinubu and the security agencies for their roles in the successful rescue mission, reaffirming that Kogi State would not become a sanctuary for criminal activities.
