According to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chapter in Rivers State, the party’s membership has lately increased to over 800,000.

At a news conference held in Port Harcourt over the weekend, Luckyman Egila announced that the party had gained the support of major politicians, including two former governors and federal lawmakers.

He claims that the ADC’s Rivers State chapter “is a beautiful bride” and that the party has been “bringing important politicians into its fold” in preparation for the 2027 elections.

He identified the two former governors who are currently party members as Rotimi Amaechi and Celestine Omehia.

Prince Uche Secondus, a former national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, “is also a member of the ADC,” the party spokesperson added.

Egila continued, “These persons have left their former parties, and they are now full members of the ADC.

“And you can only become a member of a party when you have registered with that party and issued it with a membership card. So all of them are now full members of the ADC.”

He also named Dr. Abiye Sekibo, a former minister of transportation, and Chief Austin Okpara, a former deputy speaker of the House of Representatives, as members of the ADC in Rivers State.

“The names I have mentioned are all key politicians in Rivers State, and of course, you can’t write these people off. They are all members of the ADC,” he stated.
