Ajibola Basiru, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), disclosed that discussions are underway with Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), to resolve the ongoing political crisis in Rivers State.

During a Thursday interview on TVC News, Basiru disclosed the information and acknowledged Wike’s importance as a stakeholder in the current administration.

He stated that Wike is being involved to resolve the crisis, as Rivers State is vital for President Bola Tinubu’s success.

“Wike is an avowed supporter of President Tinubu, even though he is not in the APC. As someone who is interested in the success of President Bola Tinubu, Rivers State is critical for that success.

“He is being engaged to resolve the political crisis in Rivers State,” he said.

According to ZINGTIE, Wike and his estranged political godson, Siminalayi Fubara, have been embroiled in a long-standing conflict regarding the state’s political structure.
