On Tuesday, Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara stated that he could only have reached Level 14 by going through Eleme.
Fubara made this revelation at the state’s Eleme Local Government Area during the commissioning of the Aleto-Ogale-Ebubu-Eteo road, popularly known as Old Bori Road.
According to Fubara: “My story as a person will not be complete if Eleme is not mentioned, that is the truth. If I have not started from Eleme, I may not get to Level 14.
“At least I started here before I got to Level 14.”
Recall that Fubara would have been a level 14 civil servant in the Ministry of Finance if it weren’t for the assistance of Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), according to former state Commissioner of Works Alabo George-Kelly.
Wike’s former commissioner claimed that the Minister promoted Fubara DFA to the positions of governor, accountant general, and permanent secretary.
According to George-Kelly: “We must not forget about those who helped us climb.
“Fubara would have been a level 14 civil servant in the Ministry of Finance that made him a DFA, Permanent Secretary, Accountant-General, and then a governor today.
“Some of us should be bold enough to speak the truth to power.”
