Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, and President Bola Tinubu are currently meeting behind closed doors at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Sir Peter Odili, the former governor of Rivers State, together with other state officials escorted Fubara to the state house.
It appears that the President is intervening to end the confrontation between the governor and Nyesom Wike, the former minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Wike was seen at the State House earlier.
Insiders close to the presidency attested to the possibility that the meeting was related to the recent events in the state, particularly the resignation of 27 out of 32 State House of Assembly members who support the Federal Capital Territory Minister from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Senator Kashim Shettima, the vice president, was spotted there before the meeting started in earnest.
