A portion of the Port Harcourt refinery in Rivers State has experienced a fire outbreak, ZINGTIE reported on Wednesday.
Billy Gillis-Harry, the National President of the Petroleum Retailers Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria, gave ZINGTIE confirmation of this on Wednesday.
He claims that less than five minutes after it started, the fire was contained.
“Yes, it is true that there was a fire outbreak in the Port Harcourt refinery, but it was contained in 5 minutes,” Gillis-Harry told ZINGTIE.
This occurs just hours after the Trans-Niger and Manifold pipelines in the Omwawriwa axis of the Bodo-Gokana Local Government Area and the Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Local in Rivers State were struck by two explosions.
Recall how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu proclaimed a state of emergency in Rivers State, citing the unresolved issue and insecurity in the area.
