Timothy Osadolor, the PDP’s Deputy National Youth Leader, has urged President Bola Tinubu to issue an apology for suspending Governor Siminilayi Fubara.
By imposing emergency rule in Rivers State, he charged Tinubu with going beyond his constitutional authority.
In response to the President’s decision, Osadolor made this statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
He claimed that the President’s move created a risky precedent for Nigerian democracy and compromised the separation of powers.
“Yes, I think the President is overreaching when I read the last paragraph of his speech, where he spoke to governors as if he were a headmaster in a classroom.
“He should apologise. I felt he should understand fully well that there is a clear division of powers,” Osadolor said.
