Nyesom Wike, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) minister, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for declaring an end to the state of emergency in Rivers State, claiming that the president’s move has spared the state from disaster and restored democracy.
Wike said that Tinubu’s prompt action demonstrated his dedication to peace and democratic administration in a statement released on Wednesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka.
“The President has once again demonstrated his total commitment to peace and the sustenance of democracy in Nigeria,” Wike said.
“His proactive action saved Rivers State and restored the confidence of the people in his leadership.”
He expressed gratitude to the residents of Rivers for their faith in the President and their ongoing assistance in his attempts to reorient Nigeria toward development and success.
Wike cautioned against attempts to incite unrest and asked the state’s political players to cooperate for the benefit of the populace.
“I call on all stakeholders in Rivers State to work harmoniously for the collective interest of the state and its people,” he said.
According to Wike, news from Rivers State would henceforth emphasize development, progress, and peace.
