Former Manchester United striker, Wayne Rooney, has commended Chido Obi for his performance during the team’s FA Cup exit on Sunday.
Obi came on for Rasmus Hojlund in the 68th minute of the match against Fulham at Old Trafford.
Although Danish forward Hojlund put in a determined effort, he was unable to capitalize on some of the chances that came his way.
After the game, both Rooney and manager Ruben Amorim spoke highly of the young player.
Rooney said on BBC MOTD: “What I’ve really liked about him is he’s put himself in some really good positions — I’ve been really impressed by him. He looked like the one who could go on and nick it.”
Amorim, on the other hand, told reporters after the match: “Anything can happen in the next games.

“We need to see the opposition, feel the moment of the player physically. I will focus on just the next game. I will choose the best players to win the next match.”
