Speaking at a recent press conference in Lagos, Adenekan stated, “The next project we are going to do, we intend to spend about 200 to 300 million to erect a vocational centre, and we’ll continue to do more. So far, we’ve spent about 200 to 300 million on impacting our community.” He emphasised that the district aims to spend over N500m on humanitarian services in 2025, excluding individual club budgets.
Adenekan highlighted Rotary’s global impact, saying, “We have over 55,000 clubs and over 520 districts all over the world. Through this, Rotary has effectively contributed largely to the activities and the improvement of lives all over the world.” He noted that Rotary focuses on seven key areas, including peacebuilding and conflict prevention, disease prevention and treatment, maternal and child health, economic empowerment, environment, basic education, and literacy.
He added, “These are some of the areas we function as an organisation to impact the world and transform life for good.
The announcement was made during a week-long celebration marking Rotary’s 120th anniversary. Adenekan described the anniversary as “a wonderful experience for Rotarians all over the world,” saying, “Rotary has changed the surface of the world right from the first day it was consummated, as the impact of Rotary is felt all over the world in 200 countries and geographical locations.”
