During the outreach programme, the club distributed 100 mosquito nets to combat malaria in vulnerable households and provided 50 sickle cell screening kits to promote early detection and improved health outcomes for newborns. Over 70 women also received on-site health check-ups, focusing on maternal wellness and preventive healthcare.
The president of the Rotary Club of Lekki Golden, Christiana Okenla, expressed her gratitude to sponsors, partners, medical volunteers, and members for their commitment to the project’s success. “Your support has brought hope, health, and healing to countless families. Together, we’ve demonstrated what is possible when service meets compassion,” Okenla said.
The club also launched the Dress a Dream campaign, providing clothing to children in need. Okenla emphasised that the initiative aligns with Rotary International’s focus on maternal and child health and reflects the club’s commitment to creating sustainable impact at the grassroots level. “You have not only contributed resources, but you’ve also inspired a movement of service and upliftment. This is Rotary in action, real people creating real change,” she added.
The Rotary Club of Lekki Golden has reaffirmed its dedication to continuing programmes that promote health equity, access to education, and opportunities for vulnerable communities.
