He noted that prior discussions between President Trump and President Putin suggested “a certain understanding” between the two leaders.

According to reports, the US President is working to broker a 30-day ceasefire in Russia’s ongoing war with Ukraine. Trump believes that this short-term ceasefire could serve as a stepping stone toward a more permanent peace agreement between the two countries.

While President Putin has shown some cautious optimism about the proposal, he indicated that Russia still has unresolved questions. On the other hand, Ukraine has agreed to the ceasefire plan during talks with the US in Saudi Arabia, though it remains skeptical about Russia’s true intentions.
