In light of Russia’s ongoing conflict with Ukraine, US President Donald Trump has proposed that secondary sanctions be used to deal with Russian President Vladimir Putin in a different way.

Trump made this claim while accusing Putin of “tapping” him on the peace negotiations in Ukraine.

He said that Putin had no justification for firing missiles into civilian towns and cities in recent days.

On Saturday, the US leader shared the following on Truth Social: “I’m just trying to clean up the mess that was left to me by Obama and Biden, and what a mess it is.

“There was no reason for Putin to be shooting missiles into civilian areas, cities and towns, over the last few days.

“It makes me think that maybe he doesn’t want to stop the war, he’s just tapping me along and has to be dealt with differently, through “Banking” or “Secondary Sanctions?” Too many people are dying!!!”.

Trump’s comments follow his meeting with Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the president of Ukraine, at Pope Francis’ funeral at the Vatican.

According to ZINGTIE, Trump has been making a lot of effort to reach a peace agreement to put an end to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, which has lasted more than three years.

However, he is yet to achieve an agreement as both adjacent countries continue to attack one other.
