A violent pit bull, which witnesses claimed had a history of aggression, mauled a Texas woman to death.
Around 11 p.m. on July 24, Simone Lyke, 32, was assaulted on the balcony of her San Antonio residence by her male Bully dog.
According to the police, the dog became agitated because Lyke had a friend over at the time. He turned on her while she was attempting to move her pet to the balcony.
Lyke shouted for someone to call 911 when the dog suddenly pounced at her, and the graphic scenario quickly developed.
The dog was only briefly distracted by the bystander’s attempt to stop him by throwing a pizza at him before he resumed his relentless biting on Lyke.
Witnesses informed police that she had attempted to use her purse to shield herself from the raging animal, but to no avail.

As cops attempted to tame the pet, she was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
According to KSAT, Lyke died from her injuries on Sunday, her 32nd birthday, and her death was ascribed to consequences from dog mauling.

In dramatic video, the pit bull was seen yelling at the policemen as they attempted to subdue him.
After some time, they managed to obtain the pet, which is currently in quarantine at San Antonio Animal Care Services (ACS) until the investigation is conducted.
The pit bull’s owners were determined by ACS to be Lyke and another individual. Following Lyke’s passing, the second owner received criminal citations.
The agency told KSAT that they were cited for both the dog biting Lyke and not providing documentation of immunization or microchip for another dog under their custody.

Police officers were apparently informed by witnesses to the horrific attack that the dog had been involved in past violent occurrences.
Although the specifics of these interactions are yet unknown, ACS informed San Antonio Express-News that no prior reports of pit bull bites had been made.
In relation to Lyke’s death, no one has been taken into custody. As the investigation progresses, ACS stated that they “will continue to work closely with other law enforcement.”
On social media, Lyke’s mother, Suzzette Lyke, has expressed her sorrow at her daughter’s terrible passing.

In addition to paying respects to her departed child, she has stated that the dog belonged to her lover rather than herself.‘This is My Daughter Simone that was mauled but [sic] her boyfriends dog the chicken s*** [boyfriend’s name] told the police it was hers pray for my daughter she is in critical condition,’ Suzzette wrote on July 24 before Lyke passed away.

It’s unclear if Lyke’s boyfriend was the second owner that ACS located. The agency did, however, conclude that she was one of the proprietors.
contacted the San Antonio Police Department and ACS for clarification and response.
‘The love of my love is in Heaven with her family. Rest, my beautiful daughter, to be absent in the body, now you are present with the lord,’ Suzzette wrote after Lyke’s passing.
