Imam Abdulkadir, the Chief Imam of the Mista Ali community in Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State, has denounced the pilfering of his sacrificial ram.
On the eve of Ed-el-Kabir, there was a lot of rain in the neighbourhood when the incident happened.
This was disclosed by the community’s Imam, Malam Haruna Yaqub, during the sermon immediately following the two Raka’at prayers. She condemned the act and called it insensitive.
“The Ram of our Chief Imam, which he purposely bought to sacrifice, was stolen in the night.
“We are really shocked by the incident. We were surprised to hear this story.
“This means that people are not God-fearing. It is scary that people have gone to the extent of stealing ram meant for religious activity,” Yaqub said.
However, Yaqub emphasized that everyone will answer for their conduct in this life and the next, urging the people to fear God and abstain from theft and other illegal behaviour.
He said, “It is high time people repented and took the path of Allah. It is not too late. People should stop committing bad things and act according to Allah’s commandments.
