Timilehin Ajayi was remanded to a correctional facility by a Nasarawa State High Court on Monday in connection with the murder of his 24-year-old girlfriend, Salome Enejo.

The complaint against Ajayi is culpable homicide; no address was provided.

As previously reported by ZINGTIE, he was arraigned before Justice Simon Aboki on Monday at the High Court of Justice, Lafia.

Stanley Ifeanyi, the state counsel, informed the court that Ajayi murdered National Youth Service Corps member Enejo in the Federal Capital Territory.

According to Ifeanyi, the crime was punishable by death and violated Section 221 of the Northern Nigerian Penal Code Law.

The defendant entered a not guilty plea to the accusation.

Justice Simon Aboki, the presiding judge, remanded Ajayi to the Lafia Custodial Centre and postponed the hearing till March 17, 2025.

Given the gravity and delicate nature of the matter, he promised to expedite the hearing.
