Netizens react when they see an image of a lady who purportedly led the team that collected more than 250,000 signatures for Kogi state senator Natasha Akpoti’s recall campaign alongside former Kogi state governor Yahaha Bello.

Numerous corruption investigations, including allegations of money laundering worth N80 billion, have involved the former governor.

The former governor allegedly embezzled more than N110 billion in public monies while in office, according to the EFCC.

The accusations are a part of a continuing investigation into what the anti-graft agency claims is widespread financial mismanagement in Kogi State during Bello’s rule.

The case has attracted increased public attention as Nigerians await his arraignment, with many raising concerns about the protections against official corruption.

Experts contend that, particularly at a time when demands for accountability and openness are growing, this case may act as a barometer for how well the EFCC handles high-profile cases.
