The long-lasting solidarity between Nigeria and the Niger Republic has been reinforced by Vice President Sen. Kashim Shettima, who claims that the ties that unite the two countries are far stronger than the problems that aim to separate them.
During a courtesy visit to the Emir of Gumel on the occasion of the official commissioning of the Juma’at Friday Mosque in Gumel, the Vice President said this.
According to him: “Nigeria and Niger Republic are the same; they are related and share the same blood.
“So don’t be deceived by propaganda that Nigeria doesn’t care for you. You are part of us, and we are part of you.
“I have my relatives there, our former Minister of Defence has relatives, former Minister Ali Magashi, and others,” the Vice President said.
Every partnership has misunderstandings, he said, but the best course of action is to comprehend one another and work out issues.
“I want to affirm to Nigeriens that President Bola Ahmad Tinubu loves you and that the country loves you. The bonds that bring both of us together are far stronger than the issues that seek to divide us,” the Vice President added.
He prayed for the two countries to remain together, peaceful, and stable.
Governor Umar Namadi expressed gratitude to the Vice President for the visit and pledged to back the Federal Government’s efforts to maintain national peace and stability.
