SHOCKING: Tragedy hits UNIMED after the assassination of Registrar

The Registrar of the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo, Ezekiel Adeniyan, has been assassinated, according to the Ondo State Police Command. Adeniyan’s body was found at his home on Thursday morning, and the police confirmed that his death was unnatural.

Police Public Relations Officer, Olayinka Ayanlade, stated, “The man died in the early hours of yesterday. I can confirm to you, this was reported at Fanibi Division.” He added, “We are doing everything possible to unravel the lies surrounding this case. I mean, we are after those responsible for this case.

Ayanlade further revealed, “From the information I have at my disposal, two men came out of the bush, and they forced a substance into another person’s mouth. But I can’t confirm to you where it actually happened.” The police are investigating the incident and have appealed to anyone with information to come forward.

The university management also confirmed the incident, describing the news as “devastating” and “shocking.” In a statement, the Head of Media and Protocol, Isaac Oluyi, said, “The devastating news has thrown the university into mourning, as it was shocking! He was still at his duty post on Monday, 14th July, 2025.”

The university’s Head of Human Resources, M.A. Akinkuade, paid tribute to the late registrar, saying, “The late Registrar was a dedicated and hardworking staff member whose contributions to the growth and progress of the university will be deeply remembered.” The university community is in mourning, and condolences have been extended to the family and friends of the deceased
