South African music sensation Tyla is poised to break new ground as the first African artist to host the Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards.
The announcement of the 2025 show’s host and nominee lineup was made public on Thursday by the event organizers.
The Grammy Award-winning performer will take the stage as host when the event broadcasts live on June 21 from the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California.
In addition to hosting duties, Tyla earned two nominations—one for Favourite Global Music Star and another for Favourite Music Collaboration for her track ‘Show Me Love’ alongside WizTheMc and bees & honey.
Kendrick Lamar, Ariana Grande, and Lady Gaga topped the nominee list with four nominations each, followed closely by Selena Gomez, Dwayne Johnson, Jelly Roll, and Jack Black, who all secured three nominations.
Reacting to her latest achievement via X on Thursday evening, an elated Tyla wrote, “I’m really about to host the kids choice awards.”
