Eleven students have been rusticated and eight expelled from Southern Delta University, SDU, Ozoro, located in the Lsoko North local government region.
Gross misconduct, kidnapping, attempted murder, theft, altering bank drafts, fabricating school receipts, exam malpractice, fighting, stabbing fellow students, and other actions deemed to be against the students’ matriculation oath were the reasons for their punishment.
According to a formal bulletin issued by the administration on July 4, 2025, eight of the 19 students who had committed various offenses were ejected from the school, while the remaining eleven were rusticated for a period of two semesters apiece.
While individuals who have been rusticated are expected to leave the university and their residence halls for the semesters they are to observe, the management also cautioned that expelled students no longer belong to the university and should not be found within or around the university community.
The release also includes a strong warning to students about planning illegal parties, dousing classmates with water, and signing their names on their shirts during the signing-out process, as the school’s first graduation ceremony approaches. It also states that anyone found to be involved will face appropriate consequences.
According to the announcement, Okwoero Prince Okeoghene, a 200-level accounting student, Peter Favour Ezechukwu, a 400-level library and information science student, and Oyenike Omorodion Abraham, a 200-level environmental management student, are among the expelled students from their respective departments.
Tosin Falayi, a 100-level public administration student; Favour Oghenekaro, a 200-level mechanical engineering student; Sunday Othuke, a 100-level entrepreneur; Akpedafe Samson, an HND Conversion student; and Emeofagbe Faith Oghenekome, a 300-level library and information science student.
Owhofasa Gods will, 400 level Petroleum and Gas Engineering; Kingdom Israel Emamoke, 200 level Marine Engineering; Okonkwo Ugochukwu, 300 level Computer Engineering; and Oyewale Victory, 300 level Petroleum and Gas Engineering, were among the rusticated students for two semesters, according to the official release.
Lagos is another. Big Israel: 200 level Geology, Isaac Onakpoma: 200 level Material and Metallurgical Engineering Inono Sanford Oghenekevwe teaches 200 level computer science, Odiakose Moses Victor teaches 200 level computer science, Daniel Boulagha teaches 200 level statistics, Onogbiechere Judith Ogheneyerowo teaches 300 level business administration, and Odiri Abraham Efemena teaches 200 level civil engineering and water resources, respectively.
