According to report gathered, Eric Chelle was introduced as the Super Eagles of Nigeria’s new head coach on Monday.

The unveiling ceremony was held in the Moshood Abiola Stadium’s media conference room in Abuja.

The Nigeria Football Federation, or NFF, confirmed Chelle’s appointment on Tuesday of last week.

The former Mali international is the Super Eagles’ 42nd permanent head coach.

The 47-year-old’s job is to revive Nigeria’s chances of qualifying for the FIFA World Cup in 2026.

With three points from four games, the Super Eagles are in fifth place in Group C and have yet to win in the qualifications.

The home-based Super Eagles will be led by Chelle at the 2024 African Nations Championship, or CHAN.

Recalling that Nigerian football fans and commentators widely opposed and criticized his appointment.
