Super Falcons’ Payne nominated for WSL Player of the Month

Super Falcons midfielder Toni Payne has been nominated for the English Women’s Super League (WSL) Player of the Month award for February.

Payne registered three assists in two league matches for Everton during the month.

The 27-year-old’s Everton teammate Kelly Gago is also in the running for the award.

Other nominees include Elisabeth Terland (Manchester United), Mariona Caldentey (Arsenal FC), Frida Maanum (Arsenal FC), and Mary Fowler.

Payne, who joined Everton on a free transfer last summer after leaving Sevilla, has yet to score her first goal for the Merseyside club.
