Suspected herdsmen hit Otukpo community, kill four, others missing

Four inhabitants of the Otobi-Akpa hamlet in the Otukpo Local Government Area of Benue State were killed in a nocturnal attack by gunmen suspected of being herdsmen.

Around 12:00 a.m. on Tuesday, the attackers—who were reportedly heavily armed—invaded the neighborhood, firing intermittently and causing locals to escape for their lives.

Hon. Ochi Ayedu, Eje Uzu, Alinko, and Achibi were killed in the several-hour-long onslaught, and as of the time this story was filed, a number of other citizens were still missing.

Only a few months have passed since a deadly attack on the same Otobi-Akpa hamlet that resulted in at least 13 fatalities, several injuries or missing persons, and the destruction of over 50 homes.
