The Labour Party, LP Secretariat located in the Ikeja GRA region of Lagos was on Monday apparently stormed by suspected armed thugs.

It was alleged that the attackers took away valuables and an undisclosed sum of money thought to go into millions of naira.

An eyewitness and secretariat employee reported that the attack happened at around 10 a.m. when a huge gang of suspected criminals, estimated to number over 300, attacked the building, forced their way inside, and vandalized offices.

During the operation, staff and spectators reportedly fled for their lives after the attackers stole devices, substantial amounts of cash, and key party documents.

No arrests were made at the location, but police were reported to have arrived soon after the attackers had scattered.

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the incident and reassured the public that a thorough investigation is underway, despite the fact that the motive behind the coordinated attack is still unknown as of the time this report was filed.

Authorities stated that efforts are being made to find the perpetrators and bring them to justice
