Suspected thugs kill three in 24 hour violence

A violent clash erupted in the Kurna Kan Mayanka area of Kano, lasting a full day and resulting in the death of three individuals.

According to reports, the disturbance began around 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, shortly after a wedding celebration took place in the area.

Eyewitness accounts revealed that a group of hoodlums launched an unprovoked assault on some youths following the event.

Sani Dambazau, a nearby resident, confirmed the development, stating that one of the deceased was identified as Umar Umar Na-mani. He also expressed concern that the death toll could rise.

Abubakar Umar, brother to one of the deceased said, “he was in his shop, the thugs came and took his goods, he tried to stop them, they stabbed him and took all his properties.”

He prayed for divine justice, saying he hoped “Allah SWT” would avenge the victims swiftly.

The community remains tense, with many locals fearing further violence. Several residents have already fled their homes in search of safety.

The Kano State Police Command has not yet issued an official statement, and attempts to contact DSP Hussaini Abdullahi, the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer, were unsuccessful.
