Suspended Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, was filmed in a humorous moment during a public engagement in Port Harcourt, drawing amusement from the crowd after being playfully questioned about his political competitor and former ally, Nyesom Wike.

The occasion occurred at the ceremony of songs given in honor of the late Elder Statesman, Pa Edwin Clark, where Fubara made a public appearance. An MC took advantage of the occasion to praise Fubara’s composed and modest manner in spite of his continuous political troubles.

The MC commended Fubara’s constant demonstration of grace in the footage that Symfoni TV uploaded, saying: “That good part of His Excellency, regardless of his condition, that smile never fails on his face.” He then jokingly added, “If I ask His Excellency, ‘How are you?’ he will smile and say, ‘I’m fine.’ Even if I ask him now, ‘How is your boss?’ he will smile and say, ‘He’s fine.”

The crowd laughed at the statement, which made explicit reference to Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, and Governor Fubara was seen laughing warmly in response.

Despite the severe political confrontation with Wike, his calm response to the subtle political barb was largely seen as an indication of emotional maturity and restraint.

Nevertheless, despite the continuous struggle for power in Rivers State, Fubara’s calm manner in these public places shows his resolve to stay out of the spotlight.
