Joe Biden, the president of the United States of America, has stated that his administration will negotiate the political transition with “all Syrian groups.”

This follows President Bashar al-Assad’s downfall.

According to ZINGTIE, during the weekend, Islamic insurgents in the nation overthrew Al-Assad’s authority.

After more than 13 years of civil conflict, the Assad family’s tyrannical rule came to an end on Sunday when the rebels stormed into Damascus and took over the capital, marking a turning point for the Middle East.

However, Biden said his administration “will engage with all Syrian groups, including within the process led by the United Nations, to establish a transition away from the Assad regime toward independent, sovereign Syria with a new constitution.”

Biden told reporters that “Assad should be held accountable” in response to a question about what should happen to al-Assad, who has allegedly fled to Russia.

He referred to Syria’s downfall under al-Assad as a “moment of historic opportunity.”

“The fall of the regime is a fundamental act of justice,” Biden said, speaking from the White House.

“It’s a moment of historic opportunity for the long-suffering people of Syria,” he added.
