The second edition of the Digital for All (DFA) Challenge, organised by Tech4Dev, has concluded with N150 million in cash and prizes awarded to participants, marking one of the largest reward pools ever for a digital skills initiative in Africa.

The competition unfolded across three stages — state, regional, and national — with 15,191 participants entering at the state level. From there, 265 advanced to the regional stage, and 46 finalists from across Nigeria’s six geo-political zones made it to the grand finale in Abuja.

At the finale, four winners and eight runners-up emerged across multiple categories. In the K-12 category, Abdulhameed Ibrahim of Plateau State clinched the top prize, while Al-Amin Bashir of Kaduna and Samuel Urah of Lagos finished as runners-up. The Youth Basic category was won by Ahmad Almustapha of Sokoto State, with Emmanuel Ajayi (Kwara) and Olalekan Oladiran (Osun) securing second and third place.

In the civil servants category, Opeyemi Oyebowale of Ogun State took the top spot, beating Oluchi Chibueze (Abia) and Zakariyya Ibrahim (Niger). The Youth Intermediate category, showcasing advanced digital skills, saw Miracle Michael of Niger State emerge winner, with Chinedum Chimezie (Imo) and Ismail Muhammad (Jigawa) as runners-up.

Speaking at the event, Tech4Dev’s co-founder and executive director, Oladiwura Oladepo, highlighted the vision behind the initiative. *“The DFA campaign was born from a vision to revolutionise how education and digital skilling are valued in Africa, ensuring they are celebrated and rewarded with the same prestige and excitement as entertainment. Our mission is to inspire individuals to pursue digital literacy, unlocking their potential and driving economic transformation across the continent.”*

The finale drew key dignitaries, including the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, and Idongesit Udoh, representing the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, who applauded the initiative’s impact in advancing digital empowerment
