The animal murdered one of the emir’s staff members, therefore the State Governor, Zayyanu Abdullahi, ordered the animal to be slaughtered on Monday, October 7, according to AIT News.

The hippopotamus was taken down by the efforts of 40 fisherman using bows and arrows after a long search.
