The death of 17-year-old Lurwanu Suleiman, who drowned in open waters in Dandalama village, Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area, has been confirmed by the Kano State Fire Service.
Saminu Abdullahi, the service’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), made this announcement in Kano on Wednesday.
According to Abdullahi, the event happened on Tuesday afternoon.
He said: “We received an emergency call from Malam Aminu Dandalama at about 12:54 p.m on Tuesday.
“We immediately sent our rescue team to the scene at about 01:25p.m.”
According to him, the victim was taken out of the river dead, and Alhaji Safiyan Usman, the Ward Head of Dandalama village, received his body.
According to Abdullahi, the incident’s cause is still being looked into.
