Hanan Buhari, daughter of the late former President Muhammadu Buhari, has expressed appreciation to Nigerians for extending forgiveness to her father.
The former Nigerian president passed away on Sunday, July 13, at a medical facility in London following a long illness that was not publicly disclosed.
Reports indicate that he had been dealing with an unspecified health condition and had recently left intensive care before his health declined again.
He was laid to rest on Tuesday at his home in Daura, Katsina State.
His passing has sparked a range of reactions online, with both tributes and criticisms emerging across various platforms.
In a recent interview with BBC Hausa, Hanan shared that what she would miss most about her father was his unique sense of humor.
She also expressed gratitude to Nigerians for their forgiveness, stating that although his death is painful, she accepts it as God’s will.
“What I will miss most about him is his sense of humour. I look up to him as a part of me. I want to thank everyone who forgave my late father.
“On behalf of our family, we are grateful. We have nothing to say to them except thank God. He disciplined me to study, pray, and do things that made us happy.
“That is what I can say. But since Allah has decreed it, Alhamdulillah, I had the chance to be with him and read the Qur’an to him,” she said.
