The University of Houston has expressed deep concern over the recent string of crimes on campus, including assaults, robbery, and an aggravated sexual assault. “These despicable acts are horrific, and we are actively investigating,” said a university spokesperson.

The university’s thoughts are with the victims, and they remain committed to ensuring their safety, support, and well-being, as well as that of the entire UH community. “Our top priority is the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff,” emphasized the spokesperson.

The UH Police Department (UHPD) is aggressively pursuing all leads and coordinating with the Houston Police Department, METRO Police, and other law enforcement agencies to bring those responsible to justice. “We urge all students, faculty, and staff to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity,” said the spokesperson.

To reinforce security, UHPD is increasing its patrol and presence across campus. The university encourages all members of the community to take an active role in crime prevention by reporting concerns promptly. “Safety is a shared responsibility, and we must work together to keep our campus safe,” emphasised the spokesperson.

In the event of an emergency, students, faculty, and staff are advised to call 9-1-1 immediately. For non-emergencies, UHPD can be contacted at 713-743-3333. The university also has staff available 24/7 to support students in crisis.

The UH Police Department patrols campus 24/7, 365 days a year. The university reminds everyone to be aware of their surroundings at all times and to report any suspicious activity. “If you see something, say something—your awareness and actions can make a difference,” said the spokesperson.
