The Arewa Consultative Forum, or ACF, has come under fire from Alwan Hassan, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for claiming that President Bola Tinubu’s administration is ignoring the north.
According to Hassan, the ACF is an opposition organization composed of supporters of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
The leader of the APC revealed that during the government of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, they had fought the ACF.
When answering questions on Channels TV’s Politics Today program on Tuesday, Hassan made this claim.
The APC leader responded as follows when asked if there is a rift between Northern Nigeria and the current administration:
“No, this group of people, the ACF, are opposition. We have tackled them, we have battled them under late president Muhammadu Buhari and we will still do it this time.
“The groups are supposed to be leaders but now are political. These are Atiku’s people. I’ve seen them. We know the people that have joined them, a lot of people that are aggrieved in the party of APC, have joined the ACF.
“It has its political angles all the time. They are not for the northern Nigeria.”
