Outspoken northern political figure, Hajiya Naja’atu Mohammed, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s government, alleging that it predominantly favors the Yoruba ethnic group.
She accused the President of prioritizing development efforts in the South-West, his home region, by allocating national resources disproportionately to it.
Her remarks were made during the first episode of the Political Advantage Platform (PAP) podcast, anchored by Hadiza Malumfashi.
Although she stated that her views are not driven by personal animosity toward Tinubu, she argued that his leadership has leaned heavily into regional favoritism at the expense of national cohesion and progress on key national challenges.
Naja’atu pointed to worsening economic conditions, attributing them to Tinubu’s disregard for public concerns and failure to respond to the hardships facing everyday Nigerians.
“I have nothing personal against Tinubu, but it is clear that everything in his government is about Yorubas for Yorubas and by Yorubas.
“Tinubu is using the national resources to develop his region.
“Are we trying to ‘vulcanize’ the country into ethnic fiefdoms?
“When a government ignores the voices of its people and listens only to external bodies, the result is a broken economy and suffering citizens,” she said.

Previously involved in Tinubu’s presidential campaign, Naja’atu warned that progress will remain out of reach as long as the security crisis continues unchecked.
She expressed disappointment in Tinubu’s leadership, saying that while many had optimistic expectations because of his “so-called experience” governing Lagos, his administration has so far failed to meet those expectations.
