President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has offered heartfelt condolences to the families of those who died in the fire that occurred on Tuesday at the Afriland Building on Broad Street, Lagos Island.
According to a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President also expressed sympathy to the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, and Afriland Properties Limited, all of whom suffered losses due to the incident.
Describing the fatalities as a painful tragedy, Tinubu prayed for the quick recovery of the injured individuals who are currently undergoing medical treatment.
He also praised the swift response of emergency personnel, including members of the Federal Fire Service, medical teams, and civilians who assisted in rescue and evacuation efforts.
President Tinubu further called on both individuals and organizations to prioritize safety, highlighting the need for vigilance and ongoing training to help prevent future emergencies of this nature.
“May God Almighty comfort the bereaved families, receive the souls of the departed, and grant quick healing to the injured,” the President stated.
