Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has stated that President Bola Tinubu is not responsible for the nation’s current economic situation.

He emphasized that the President should be supported in navigating the country through these trying circumstances.

Eno made this remark on Tuesday during a briefing with journalists at the State House after meeting with Vice President Kashim Shettima at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

He described Tinubu’s first two years in office as “wonderful” and marked by determined efforts to address inherited challenges”.

“President Tinubu didn’t create the problem we are in right now. For me, I believe he is doing his best, and he should be supported to finish strong,” he said.

The governor also shared progress made under his leadership in Akwa Ibom, citing advancements in sectors such as healthcare, education, rural development, and road construction.

He noted that while the early part of his term focused on developing local communities, the latter part will prioritize large-scale infrastructure projects aimed at transforming the state into a hub for both economic activity and tourism.
