A tragic event has shook a Nigerian town as two kids apparently passed away soon after eating BBQ fish that their father’s side chick supposedly bought.

As relatives seek justice, the unexplained and unexpected deaths have sparked indignation, suspicion, and a police inquiry.

The father, whose identity is being concealed for legal reasons, brought home the grilled fish that a lady he is thought to be romantically engaged with, according to family sources.

According to reports, he gave the kids the lunch as a present from “a friend,” not realizing it might be fatal.

The children, who are five and seven years old, started to show symptoms of distress, such as vomiting and convulsions, shortly after eating the fish.

Upon arriving at a local clinic, witnesses and medical personnel reported that they were declared dead.

Tension in the neighborhood and demands for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the murders resulted from the mother, who was apparently away at the time, returning to learn of the tragedy and raising alarm.

The remains have now been seized by local authorities and transported for toxicological and autopsy examinations.

According to police spokespersons, the alleged side chick has been invited for interrogation and the situation is being investigated as a possible instance of food poisoning or foul play.

Additionally, investigators are looking into whether the fish was tampered with, intentionally poisoned, or tainted before being eaten.

The father, now under public scrutiny, has claimed that he was unaware the food may be dangerous. However, fury has rippled throughout social media, with many asking for serious prosecution if incompetence or intentional intent is proven.

This occurrence has reaffirmed calls for parental accountability, attention, and understanding of food safety in relation to children’s wellness, particularly in households where marital discord or outside influences may present unanticipated risks.
