Napoli has been cautioned against making Nigeria international Ademola Lookman their top transfer target.
Italian football analyst Marcelo Altamura advised that Lookman struggles with following instructions on the field.
Altamura suggested that the Serie A champions should instead prioritize signing Mattia Zaccagni and Dan Ndoye.
This recommendation comes despite Lookman’s impressive performances for Atalanta this season.
Following his standout 2024-25 campaign, Lookman has been linked with a move to Napoli.
Speaking to 1 Station Radio via Area Napoli, the Italian expert noted that Lookman faces challenges with tactical discipline and fitting into team structures.
“I would probably choose the Zaccagni–Ndoye pairing, and I’ll tell you why. They are both strong and reliable players,” Altamura said.
“Ndoye, on the other hand, is a player I have always liked: explosive, very technical, but also disciplined. He is not one of those ‘anarchic’ talents like Lookman, who scores a gem of a goal but then doesn’t follow the instructions.
“In short, if I could choose, I would undoubtedly opt for the two of them.”
Lookman scored 15 goals and made 5 assists across 31 Serie A appearances for Atalanta last term.
