Enzo Maresca, the manager of Chelsea, has informed the board that he is in favour of their pursuit of Victor Osimhen of Napoli.

The Blues are monitoring Osimhen and hoping to sign a striker this summer.

They are not prepared to pay Napoli’s €130 million (£110.8 million) asking price, which is his release clause.

The former Serie A winners have lowered their asking price to €100 million (£85.8 million), but Chelsea and PSG are still unwilling to meet that amount.

Sky Sports Italy reports that Maresca personally endorsed Osimhen’s transfer after their attempt to get Samu Omorodion from Atletico Madrid failed over the weekend.
