Stanley Nwabali, the goalkeeper for the Super Eagles, has stirred up debate regarding his future by bringing up European giants Real Madrid and Manchester United.
Nwabali gave an update to the supporters regarding his situation with Chippa United, a South African DStv Premiership team.
He made it clear that, despite speculations tying him to possible moves to teams in Europe, Asia, and South Africa during the summer transfer season, no firm offers are currently on the table.
After his outstanding achievements at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), where he broke the record for the longest period without giving up a goal by a Nigerian goalkeeper in AFCON history, Nwabali’s fame skyrocketed.
The 27-year-old stated that he would not force his way out of Chippa United, but he did express a desire to investigate new job opportunities.
Prior to Nige’s 2026 World Cup qualifying match against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on Wednesday, Nwabali spoke with reporters and said: “I really wish to leave, but at this point there’s no club, I don’t really need to force it because if I can put up any performance with Chippa United in my national team, it doesn’t change anything if I’m in Manchester United or if I’m in Real Madrid.
” I will leave if there’s a club, but I stick to my club if there’s no club.”
