US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has revealed that President Donald Trump possesses complete authority over the timeline of the ongoing conflict with Iran.

During a press conference at the Pentagon on Monday, Hegseth revealed this information.

The American, aged 45, was answering reporters’ inquiries related to the possible conclusion of US military operations in Iran.

ZINGTIE reports that this comes after Trump recently suggested that the situation in Iran could last for “four to five weeks.”

However, Hegseth has diminished the significance of this timeline by clarifying that the ultimate decision lies with the President of the United States.

“The President [Donald Trump] has all the latitude in the world to talk about how long it [the US operations in Iran] might last or might not take,” Hegseth said.

“It could be four weeks, two or even six weeks, and it could move up or back.”
