Trump openly states his interest on tariffs

On Friday, President Donald Trump stated that he was open to negotiating deals with countries looking to avoid US tariffs.

He emphasized that these agreements would need to be finalized after his administration imposes reciprocal tariffs on April 2.

Trump made these comments while speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One.

The president also mentioned that he would soon unveil tariffs aimed at the pharmaceutical industry but refrained from providing specifics on the timing or the exact rates.

He noted that countries like Britain had reached out to the United States in hopes of cutting deals to bypass the reciprocal tariffs.

“They want to make deals. It’s possible if we can get something for the deal. But yeah, I’m certainly open to that. If we can do something where we get something for it,” he said.

When asked if these deals could be finalized before April 2, Trump replied, “No, probably later. It’s a process.”
